Brooklyn Bridge and the New York City skyline at night

For the last day of my 3 day visit to New York City I ventured out to Dumbo (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), Brooklyn (via York subway station) for some photos of the New York City skyline at the edge of the day.  Once you get off the subway and start walking towards the East River you can’t miss the first striking view, that of the Manhattan Bridge, seen below.

Manhattan Bridge As you venture further towards the river a majestic view unfolds along a waterfront park where the mighty Brooklyn Bridge links the two boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

NYC 12 Feb 2018-7Once the blue hour arrived, I took a number of long exposure shots of 10 seconds each.  I was situated high enough from the river’s edge to avoid being splashed, but some photographers got a bit wet from being too close to the water, their lessons learned for the night.  After more than an hour in the cold, and seemingly happy with my shots, I packed up and stopped by a nearby cafe for some nice hot tea before heading back on the subway to my hotel in Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queens.

Of the two photos, the featured image above and the one below,  which one do you like best?

Very interesting photos of a bridge I have often read about but never seen. Very clear and unique viewpoint

I would have to say that both photos are so beautiful I just can’t make up my mind. I love them both and after looking at them over and over again I still love them both equally the same. This is one trip I would force myself to get on the plane for. I have this on my list and I sure hope I get to make this trip. Thanks for sharing!
